Amoruso tells Gerrard: Don’t rush Liverpool return

Rangers great Lorenzo Amoruso has urged Steven Gerrard to stay and build a legacy before eventually returning to Liverpool.

Gerrard is being linked with Jurgen Klopp’s job at Liverpool after leading Gers to the Scottish Premiership title.

Amoruso told TMW: “At this moment I hope it does not pass in his head to go to Liverpool, also because you cannot send Klopp away after a year in which things are not going as they should. In previous years he has won everything.

“I have no doubt that Liverpool will be in his future, he was the captain for many years and that is right. But he must not be in a hurry. With respect for Scottish football, the English Premier League is different and I think he still has one or two years of experience in Scotland to come. His work is excellent, he understands more than others and he is not only a football man but also looks after other aspects.”
