Ancelotti jets into Liverpool for Everton talks
Reports emanating from the U.K reveal that Carlo Ancelotti has arrived in England to commence discussions to become Everton manager.
The Italian was sacked by Napoli last Tuesday after guiding the club to the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Goodison Park hierarchy began discussions with the former Chelsea boss earlier today and now both parties are about to begin a second phase of talks.
Ancelotti had emerged as a target for Arsenal, but the north London club are now leaning towards Mikel Arteta and have made an official approach to Manchester City about his availability.
That’s opened the door for Everton chiefs to swoop for Ancelotti, as they look to convince the 60-year-old with their long-term vision which includes their impressive 52,000 seater Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.
Everton confirmed early today that Duncan Ferguson will continue in the dug-out for this weekend’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Leicester.
