While the summer arrival from Celtic has needed to remain patient due to injury, the full-back is now ready to feature in the Premier League after a number of outings in cup competitions.

Tierney has received praise for his contributions in those matches, although the Scotland international intends to build on his early outings.

The 22-year-old told BT Sport: “When you come [to a new side] you don’t want to be injured, but everyone has been magic with me. The manager, the coaches and the other players.

“I’ve came a long way, I’m delighted to be back fit but I’ve still got a way to come. I’m developing as player and as a person.”
