Arsenal tables €7.5million bid for FCSB winger Stoica

Arsenal have made a €7.5million bid to sign FCSB winger Ianis Stoica, according to the Romanian club’s owner.

The Gunners spent the most out of any Premier League side in the summer transfer window, with the emphasis of their spending being on young players.

Each player signed last summer were under the age of 24, and have all had a role to play this season with Mikel Arteta’s side now fifth in the league table.

And FCSB owner Gigi Becali has revealed he has been in negotiations with the north Londoners over 18-year-old winger, Stoica.

“I currently have €7.5 million (offer) for Ianis Stoica,” Becali told outlet Digisport (via FourFourTwo), before confirming that the bid was from Arsenal.

“And I want 10 million plus 20% (from a future transfer),” he added.

Stoica mostly operates as a right winger, but has played through the middle for Romania’s Under-21 side.

This season he has scored six goals and provided two assists for FCSB, as per Transfermarkt.

Stoica is not short on confidence, comparing himself to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe during an interview.

“I think Mbappe,” the 18-year-old said when asked what player he thought he resembled.

Arsenal got back to winning ways on Saturday after they eased past Newcastle United at the Emirates. Arteta’s side beat the Magpies 2-0, and the Spaniard said he was “pleased” as the Gunners played with “urgency and rhythm”.

“I am happy with the points after losing [to Liverpool last weekend]. You have to win straight away. Overall I’m pleased,” Arteta said.

“The word was we had to be patient. We had to play with urgency and rhythm. That’s what we did in the second half. We found spaces and that’s how we scored the goals.

“When you have chances you have to put them in the net. In the first half we shot from every range without composure.”

On Arsenal’s second goal: “The movement, the pass from Tomi is great. It’s really difficult to keep the ball down when it’s flying over your head but that’s what he can do.”
