Ballo-Toure says no to Antwerp in favour of Bundesliga move

Milan defender Fode Ballo-Toure has reportedly turned down the opportunity to move to Belgium to play for Royal Antwerp in favour of a move to the Bundesliga to sign for Werder Bremen.

Milan have been looking to sell the 26-year-old for the majority of the summer, having decided that he would no longer be part of Stefano Pioli’s plans for the 2023-24 season.

Plenty of clubs have registered interest in Ballo-Toure during the transfer window, but a permanent move has not yet materialised.

Antwerp believed they had reached an agreement with the Rossoneri on economic terms over the weekend for a €4m fee, but according to Calciomercato.com, Ballo-Toure has now rejected the proposal.

Instead, it is believed that he has his heart set on a move to the Bundesliga to play for Werder Bremen instead.

Calciomercato writes that Ballo-Toure wishes to continue playing in a top-level division and believes that Bremen is the best destination to suit his current needs.
