Bayern, Dortmund will play the German Super Cup without fans

The German Super Cup, which will take place on Wednesday between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena in Munich, will be held without fans, the Bavarian capital confirmed in a press release on Monday.

According to the information, the city’s commission for extraordinary events (SAE), headed by Mayor Dieter Reiter, decided on this measure and agreed on a general procedure that establishes when sports events will take place without spectators or with a reduced number.

In its decision, the commission referred to the rate of infections over a seven-day period, which is the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in that time period.

If this figure is less than 35 in the Bavarian capital, the event will be held with a reduced number of spectators, or up to 20% of the capacity of the stadium, and if the figure is 35 or more, no fans will be allowed.

In the protocol of the German Football League (DFL), the pandemic level is considered to be high from 35 new infections in one week per 100,000 population.
