Antonio Nusa is expected to be the new star of Club Brugge with the departure of Noa Lang and he has promised to meet the expectations.

A lot is expected this season of the left winger, who is eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.

“I just turned eighteen. I know that the outside world expects a lot from me, it has never been any different since I was sixteen, but I try not to take that into account too much,” Nusa told Het Belang van Limburg.

“My moment will come when it comes. The sooner, the better of course, I hope already now.”

“Replacing Noa Lang? I don’t think anyone can do that,” the modest Nusa answered. “Just let me become Club Brugge’s new Antonio Nusa.”

He is fast and technically good, but he has to work on his starts with three goals and an assists in 38 appearances for Club Brugge mainly as a substitute.

“I know I’m not there yet, given my qualities, but those matches are good for me,” Nusa said.

“I train a lot extra – the physiotherapists sometimes have to hold me back. And I review all my trainings together with the trainers.”
