Real Madrid are at risk of losing some of their big players this January. With Luka Modric, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale all on the fringe of their careers at the Santiago Bernabeu, the board will have to consider their moves carefully.
A report from Fox Sports has suggested that Karim Benzema doesn’t fear leaving Real Madrid.
Rumour has it, the French striker has submitted a request to make him the highest-paid player in the squad.
Benzema has been subject to a move away from Real Madrid. It’s thought that he will join the Premier League or even Ligue 1 again. Therefore, the board’s decision on whether to renew his contract will speak volumes of their stance on the striker.
More from Real Madrid Los Blancos signed Luka Jovic in the summer. He was thought to be the long-term alternative for Benzema who is aging a bit now.
However, the new striker is yet to hit the ground running in the Spanish capital so there are creeping doubts surrounding his name.
Karim Benzema has been the front- runner for Real Madrid for several seasons now and his goals has even ensured they haven’t missed Cristiano Ronaldo that much. The striker has already scored 10 goals across all competitions for Los Blancos this season.

Benzema is a versatile striker who can score a range of different goals. That said, he is tailored to most systems across Europe. He ages at 31 now so he is getting on a bit, however, wherever he ends up playing come January will be lucky to have him.
