Benzema happy making goalscoring history with Real Madrid
Karim Benzema was happy to make history with Real Madrid in their victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.
Benzema scored the 1,000th and 1,001st goals for Real Madrid in the European Cup/Champions League.
He said after the win: “If I had Real Madrid’s 1000th goal in Europe in mind? Honestly, no. I wanted to win the match, score or make an assist and help my team always. After all the better, I go a little further into the history of the club. But the most important thing tonight was the three points because it was a very difficult game.
