Brazil 2019: Golden Eagles eyeing second victory against Hungary after 34 years

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets are targetting another victory against Hungary when both teams clash on Saturday at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in their Group B opener. Kick-off time is 9 pm Nigeria time.

Saturday’s clash at the Estádio Olímpico, Goiania in Brazil will be a repeat of their quarterfinal match 34 years ago which Nigeria won 3-1.

Goals from Bella Momoh and Victor Igbinoba gave the five-time champions the victory after trailing their opponents.

That was also the year Nigeria captained by Nduka Ugbade won the trophy which was the maiden edition in China.

Interestingly Ugbade is part of the team’s coaching set-up to Brazil as an assistant to Manu Garba.

The China tournament was the last for Hungary as they return to the international stage this year, beginning from where they ended-a clash with Nigeria.
