The NationSport can report that Cadbury Nigeria Plc has offered a new mouthwatering deal to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), in the bid to make the football regulatory body to be financially independent, as well get adequate funding for the 2018 World Cup campaign of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The said deal which value has not yet been disclosed will see the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officially declare Tom Tom- one of the products of the beverages and confectioneries’ manufacturing company as the ‘Official Candy of the Super Eagles’.

According to Company’s Corporate and Government Affairs Director for West Africa, Mr. Bala Yesufu, the details of the deal will be made known soon as plans have been concluded for an official public announcement.

Yesufu added that; “Tom Tom, the leading candy brand from Cadbury Nigeria is proud to be associated as ‘Official Candy of the Super Eagles.’ We appreciate the leadership of the NFF for their moderation in arriving at this partnership initiative and we hope to live up to our part of the deal.”

NFF President, Amaju Pinnick in a statement said, the three years partnership deal with Tom Tom was too good to be turned down stating that it was a worthwhile contract.

His words; “The Nigeria Football Federation is pleased to have finally signed this worthwhile agreement with Cadbury Nigeria Plc. We appreciate what Cadbury Nigeria Plc has done for Nigerian football over the years and that is why we embraced them immediately an approach was made.

“Candies are for champions. The Super Eagles remain a champion team and Cadbury Nigeria Plc is also a champion establishment. I strongly believe the company will enjoy the new experience even better than its previous romance with Nigerian Football.”

Chairman of Pamodzi Sports Marketing Limited, Mr. Mike Itemuagbor, said the sponsorship agency, offered: “The agreement is for a period of three years in the initial period, and renewable. It makes Tom Tom the ‘Official Candy of the Super Eagles,’ but all other details will be made known at the contracts’ exchange ceremony.

“As a Sponsorship Agency, we have the responsibility to ensure that both organisations derive fulfillment from the relationship, and we are fully committed to doing just that.”

You would recall that this development came just as the football officials sealed a staggering sum of N2.2Billion five years football deal with Nigeria Breweries in the bid to develop football in Nigeria.
