CAF President Ahmad tests positive to Covid-19, isolates

CAF President Ahmad Ahmad has tested positive to coronavirus and has since gone on self isolation expected to last for at least 14 days.

The 60 year old Madagascan who is seeking a second term in office reportedly developed symptoms of the virus after arriving Cairo on Wednesday and has since gone on self-isolation in line with the rules.

All those who have come into contact with Mr. Ahmad over the past seven days especially during his trip to Morocco for the Confederation Cup have been informed and requested to take the necessary measures.

This is coming few days after FIFA President Gianni Infantino equally contracted the virus and went on self-isolation.

Although the intensity of spread of the virus appears to have reduced in some places, it remains a potential threat to sports and business activities across the globe even as sports fans remain locked out of most sports venues as a way of checkmating the spread.
