Cappa: Why Sanchez better than Ronaldo

Former Real Madrid assistant coach, Angel Cappa, has described Hugo Sanchez as a brighter footballer than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, now with Juventus, is regarded by many as Real’s greatest player.

But Cappa argues: “Cristiano is a very complete player because he can score with both feet, from a free-kick and a header. We saw what he did in Madrid for 9 years, but I think Hugo Sánchez was cleverer inside the box. I was behind the goal when I saw the movements Sánchez did to get rid of the defenders and score goals…

“Hugo Sanchez was so good at tricking defenders without the ball and that is key for a striker if he wants to succeed in a big club like Real Madrid.”
