CCL: Watanga FC weren’t a weak side, says Eguma
Head coach of Nigeria’s representative in the CAF Champions League Rivers United, Stanley Eguma has heaped praises on Watanga FC for putting up a good fight, especially in the second half.
Nigeria’s champions walloped Watanga FC 3-0 with all the goals coming in the first half of the encounter.
Eguma made several changes but were unable to break down Watanga in the second as they ended 3-0.
During the post-match conference, the coach praised the away side and promised that they are going to fashion another strategy for the away game.

“It was a very tough game, anybody that heard the name will think it was a pushover.
“We took them on in the first half, pressed them and make sure that they collapsed and we got the goals but I gave kudos to their technical team in the second half for fashioning a strategy to contain us.
We tried our best in the second half from the flanks but we couldn’t penetrate and I think we have to work very hard because if they could hold us here for 45 minutes, I knew is going to be more difficult in Moravia.
“We are not relying on the 3-0 we won here, like I said they are a strong side and a good team, we expect a tougher opposition in the second leg than today but we are going to fashion out another strategy for the game and we are not going to defend”, he said.
