Chelsea 0:3 Bayern: Gnabry’s goals sinks Blues at Stamford Bridge

Serge Gnabry returned to London with another haunting display in the capital, as his two goals helped Bayern Munich to beat Chelsea 3-0 in the Champions League.

Serge Gnabry scores against Chelsea

Having netted four times against Tottenham in North London during the group stages, Gnabry made it six goals on English soil this term with two quick-fire second-half goals, before Robert Lewandowski finished the Blues off in the first leg of the last 16 clash.

Bayern dominated possession and had the best chances in the first half, with Thomas Muller hitting the bar with an unorthodox header after he found space in between the Chelsea defence, while Lewandowski and Mason Mount both had other opportunities.

Chelsea, however, were undone by three minutes of brilliance from Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski early in the second half.

A slip inside his own half from Cesar Azpilicueta allowed Gnabry to send it wide to Lewandowski, who then pulled it back for the German to rifle home after 51 minutes.

Shortly after, a swift counter-attack saw another one-two between the pair and Gnabry was again on target, finishing coolly past Caballero.

The Bayern flow did not let up but Chelsea did get their chances, with Mount unable to control a shot from the left edge of the area after a mistake.
