Chelsea 3-1 Crystal Palace: Morata nets brace

Alvaro Morata’s brace has guided Chelsea to a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace today to maintain their unbeaten record in the Premier League this season.

The Blues ensured they kept pace with leaders Manchester City and moved above Liverpool with their victory.

Morata put them ahead from close range in the first half, but a fine strike on the counter from Andros Townsend brought the Eagles back into the contest.

Eden Hazard’s arrival from the bench provided a rapid spark as his free-kick was converted by Morata for his second goal of the day, while Pedro secured the three points when he fired home from Marcos Alonso’s cross.
