Chelsea boss Lampard cools link for Leicester

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has played down talk of a January move for Leicester City fullback Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell has been linked with Chelsea this week.

But Lampard says: “When you look at the number of players we’ve got there and the quality of player, I don’t think it’s a problem. We just need to make sure with our full-backs that they join in a lot and have the capacity to get up and down, which is important in how we play.

“Emerson played really well the other night, Marcos Alonso was playing in a period of games where we were winning regularly and [Cesar] Azpilicueta can play there as he did in the Premier League-winning season under Jose Mourinho so I’ve got options.”
