Chelsea in talks with Sevilla over signing France centre-back
Chelsea are in talks with Sevilla over signing France international Jules Kounde.
The 22-year-old centre-back moved to the Spanish club two years ago and has gone on to establish himself as one of the most promising defenders in Europe.
He helped Sevilla qualify for the Champions League last season and was part of France’s Euro 2020 squad this summer.
Kounde has also attracted the interest of Manchester City, who held talks with Sevilla over signing him last season.

A versatile performer, Kounde can line up at right-back if needed, as well as his usual position at the heart of the defence.
He currently has three years left on his contract with Sevilla – who have just parted with exciting winger Bryan Gil after he joined Spurs in a part-exchange deal that has seen Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction.
