Chelsea latest transfer news and rumours

English Premier League side Chelsea have been busy in the transfer market recently, with top names signed and a host of big names being linked. The Blues finished third behind Manchester City and Liverpool, and boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on bridging the gulf between his side and the country’s top two.

We bring you the latest from the Chelsea transfer desk, including the names linked with the London club.

Koulibaly is a Blue

Chelsea have acquired the services of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for a sum reported to be around £33 million. The Senegal central defender has agreed to a four-year deal for about £160,000 per week (£8.2 million annually) net plus bonuses to join Stamford Bridge. He flew to Las Vegas on Friday to join his new teammates on their pre-season tour of the United States.

Chelsea sign Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling for £47.5 million

Raheem Sterling completed a £47.5 million transfer from Manchester City to Chelsea. The 27-year-old joined Thomas Tuchel’s team on their pre-season tour of the United States after signing a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Sterling signing is a huge statement for Tuchel, and a warning shot to other Premier League contenders. Sterling’s immediate former employer City remain the team to beat in the EPL race, but it promises to be a good season to bet on the favourites by joining betting sites with sign up bonuses.

Ake to stay at Man City

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is set to stay at the Etihad after Chelsea’s dreams of adding defensive reinforcements were again dashed.

According to reliable sources, City were not keen on doing any business regarding Ake, unless prospective suitors met his right market valuation.

Ake, on his part, is believed to be happy to be staying with the Premier League champions, and Pep Guardiola views him as a key part in the first-team squad because of his flexibility.

Inside reports indicate that Chelsea’s interest was never backed by any favorable offer. Thus, Chelsea will focus on PSG center-back Presnel Kimpembe, with the two sides now locked in negotiations.

Gallagher hopeful after positive talks with Tuchel

Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher is looking to be an important member of the Chelsea team now that manager Thomas Tuchel has given his assurance. Tuchel spoke to Gallagher on phone, and assured him of his faith in him, and his plans for the coming season.

Gallagher spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Crystal Palace and has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea, fueling rumors over the 22-year-old’s future.

Gallagher was a key member of Patrick Vieira’s Palace squad last season, scoring eight goals in 38 appearances to win the fans’ Player of the Season award for Palace. Gallagher, who debuted against San Marino last year has four caps for England. His current Chelsea contract runs until 2025.

Who has been linked with Chelsea?

Paris Saint-Germain have received a £40 million bid from Chelsea for defender Presenel Kimpembe. It is also reported that Jules Kounde talks with La Liga side Sevilla have resumed.

Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Sevilla’s Jules Kounde after Manchester City made it clear that defender Nathan Ake was staying. Chelsea are getting more optimistic that they can sign Sevilla’s central defender ahead of Barcelona.

After previous failed attempts to convince Jules Kounde to join Chelsea, Tottenham have emerged as strong competitors to sign him from Sevilla. Sevilla director of football Monchi has given an update on Kounde’s future despite interest from Chelsea.
