CL Group Stage Draw: Sakin dreams Al Ahly, Lobi stars for Horoya

Horoya FC of Guinea striker, Simeon Bolaji Sakin is desirous of a CAF Champions League group stage that will include Lobi Stars and Egyptian giants, Al Ahly Nationale ahead of the draw fixed for Cairo, Egypt.

Sakin who is in his second season with the Guinean side overcame Al Nasr of Libya 6-5 on aggregate after overturning a 3-0 first leg deficit to cruise to the group stage of the lucrative Africa’s club competition with the Nigerian scoring two of the second leg six goals that turned the game around.

Speaking with SportingLife.ng ahead of Friday’s draw, Sakin revealed that he would like Horoya to face Al Ahly again to seek revenge this term having eliminated them at the quarter final stage of the same competition this year.

The former Abia Warriors and Rivers United striker pointed out that he would like to drawn against Lobi Stars to enable him visit home and also make his teammates to visit his family members.
“I am anxiously waiting for the Friday draw and I will like us to be paired against Al Ahly and Lobi Stars and another team,” Sakin told SportingLife.ng

“I want Al Ahly again because they were the one that stopped us from proceeding to the semi-final after they beat us in the quarter final stage. It was a painful loss and we will like to meet them again to take our revenge.
“I am hoping that we play against Lobi Stars too because it will enable me to visit home again and to also take my teammates to my house. Lobi Stars beat their opponent from Kenya, Gor  Mahia and they must be a good side too.”

The attacker told SportingLife.ng that it was difficult for them to stage a comeback against Al Nasr SC after they were bombed 3-0 in the first leg but that they were determined not to be eliminated at this stage.
He affirmed that they trained very  about they were inspired to for them to hard and were optimistic of a second leg turnaround. Sakin opined that they were unable to celebrate their victory for long because of a key game they have ahead.
