Club Africain thrash Rivers United in CAFCC

Rivers United FC of Nigeria were beaten 3-0 by Tunisia’s Club Africain in their CAF Confederation Cup Group C match, putting its hopes of progressing to the knockout stages in jeopardy, at the Stade de Rades in Tunis, Tunisia.

Nigerian striker Kingsley Eduwo was the standout performer for Club Africain, contributing two crucial goals in the 6th and 45th minutes.

Rami Bedoui extended Club Africain’s lead with a goal in the 69th minute, securing a comprehensive victory for the Tunisian side.

The result means Rivers United find themselves in third place in Group C, having accumulated six points from four matches. Club Africain solidified its position at the top of the group with nine points.

In the other Group C encounter, Dreams FC of Ghana claimed a 4-0 victory against APC Lobito from Angola, recording nine (9) points in second place in the group.

Rivers United will now need to secure positive results in upcoming fixtures against Dream FC and APC Lobito to improve its chances of advancing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
