Club W/Cup final: Ighalo plays for four minutes in Al Hilal defeat

Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo was in action for just four minutes Saturday for Al Hilal and Real Madrid reclaimed the Club World cup beating the Saudi club 5-3.

Ighalo who was impressive in the semifinal tie against Flamingo, got a chance to play against Madrid in the 86th minute ,replacing teammate Marega who scored one of the goals for Hilal just before leaving the pitch.

All the goals for and against had been scored before Ighalo was called in. Brazilian Vinícius Júnior opened scoring for for Madrid in the 13th minute of the game with Valverde increasing the tally five minutes later.

Marega pulled one back for Hilal in the 26th minute, but Vinícius Júnior and Valverde made theirs a brace with returnee talisman Kareem Benzema equally scoring in the 54th minute to ensure Madrid sealed five goals in the eight goal thriller.

The victory has taken the number of time Madrid has won the prestigious trophy to five.
