Comapring me to Okocha puts me under pressure, Aribo tells fans

Rangers of Scotland player, Joe Aribo has told fans not to put him under pressure by comparing him with ex-Super Eagles playmaker, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

The 23-year old who made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in this month’s international friendly against Ukraine and scored said he grew up watching Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu.

“I read the headline where a journalist compared me to Okocha after the Ukraine game and that’s putting a lot of pressure on me!

“I could have played for England but my parents are from Nigeria and I always watched players like Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu as a kid,” he said.

Aribo who has enjoyed a meteoric rise after a successful spell at Charlton is already looking forward to next month’s international friendly against Brazil in Singapore.
