Former Nigeria international, Victor Ikpeba has called on Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr to consider inviting Arsenal youngster, Bukayo Saka after watching him against Leicester City in Wednesday’s premier league encounter.
The Delta State Football Association chairman made his observations on his Twitter handle after the match which ended 1-1.
“Watching the Arsenal Vs Leicester City game and I think Gernot Rohr should invite Bukayo Saka to the Super Eagles camp once the paperwork have been concluded,” Ikpeba tweeted.
Saka who recently signed a new contract with the Gunners following a number of impressive performances this season is eligible to play for the senior team despite born and raised in London by his Nigeria parents.
He will however, need to apply for a change of nationality having represented England at the youth level.
He already has four goals in 10 appearances for the England U-19’s.
If he ends up switching his nationality, he will join the likes of Alex Iwobi, Joe Aribo, Ola Aina and Semi Ajayi who were all born in London but now play for the national team.
