Crystal Palace dump Aaron Ramsey chase project

Crystal Palace are walking away from their interest in Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The former Arsenal star has been heavily linked in recent weeks with a move to Selhurst Park – and it’s clear there is tentative interest in Palace’s Ramsey.

But the Eagles have decided not to make any formal efforts to sign the 31-year-old.

Ramsey, who earns £400,000 a week in wages, is set to return to the Premier League this month after Juventus told him he could leave.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri confirmed earlier this month that the Wales international is redundant after describing him as “an extroverted player”.

That has reportedly led to several clubs making loan offers to the Serie A giants to take the 31-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season.

Reports claim the former Arsenal star has already rejected approaches to return to the Premier League from Newcastle, Wolves, Burnley, as well as a few Spanish clubs.

Ramsey is said to be confident he can earn a move to a more high profile England squad, despite being injured again this season, affecting his minutes in Turin.

The 31-year-old has made just one league start for Max Allegri’s side this season, taking two appearances from the bench.

Ramsey joined the Old Lady on a free transfer in July 2019, after spending 11 years at Arsenal.

He has scored six goals in 69 appearances for the club, but has just over 100 minutes for Juventus this season.
