Cyber-bully against Iwobi: Ahmed Musa condemns action cautions fans
Ilked by increasing cyber-bully directed at Nigeria international and fulham star Alex Iwobi following Super Eagles defeat in the just ended AFCON final in Cote d Ivoire, team Captain Ahmed Musa has condemned that act and cautioned fans against progressing in that part.
Musa who shortly after the tournament held the unity in the national team both in good and in bad reminded those engaging in the unholy act that football is a team game adding that you win and lose as a team. Singling out a player for attack according to the former Leicester City and Al Nassr forward is not only wrong but totally unacceptable and inhuman.

Musa too to his X to appeal to fans to drop the ugly behaviour and rather rally around the team at this moment. The MON, national award recipient in what looked like a formal letter addressed to the fans said via @Ahmedmusa718 said
“Dear fans, I want to please urge you to halt the cyber-bullying directed towards Alex Iwobi. Cyber bullying is not just a violation of decency but also a serious crime. It’s hypocritical to claim that football unites us while engaging in such behavior.
Losing a game is undoubtedly tough, but targeting a single player for the team’s shortcomings is unfair and unjust. We win as a team, and we lose as a team. Alex gave his all on the field, just like every member of our squad.
Instead of spreading negativity, let’s show genuine love and support to our players. They need our encouragement now more than ever. Let’s uplift each other and stand united, both in victory and defeat. 👏🦅🇳🇬 THANKS”
A number of fans since the tournament that saw Cote d Ivoire come from behind to emerge African Champions have taken to the social media to direct all manner of insult at Iwobi who they accuse of contributing little on nothing in the course of the tournament.

Some well-meaning Nigerians have however hailed the team for making it to the final, noting that many never believed that the Eagles will fly this far just before the tournament. Those who wrote off the Eagles just before the tournament said losing 2-0 to Guinea in a pre-tournament friendly was an indication that the team was not ready for business.
The Jose Peseiro tutored side however proved them wrong making it all the way to the final to emerge second best in Africa.
