Captain’s armband Cristiano Ronaldo angrily threw away during a match with Serbia is being auctioned to raise money for a child’s surgery.
Ronaldo took the armband off and threw it down after a last-gasp potential 3-2 winner against Serbia seemed to cross the line, but was not awarded.
There is no VAR or even goal-line technology in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Ronaldo then stormed off and was roundly condemned for his actions, but at least the armband is having a positive effect for some.
The Associated Press reports that a stadium worker picked up the armband and then handed it over to a charity group, who are raising funds for the surgery of a six-month-old boy from Serbia with spinal muscular atrophy.
The armband will be in an online auction for three days.
