Divine Nwachukwu dreams Super Eagles debut against Sierra Leone

Divine Nwachukwu is delighted with the invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.

Nwachukwu, who plays for Benin Insurance, is among four home based players invited by Coach Jose Peseiro for the crucial game against the Leone Stars.

The 20 year-old midfielder enjoyed a good campaign with Insurance, leading the team to title Playoff as well as the Federation Cup final, and he is now eyeing his debut with the senior national team.

“It’s a dream come true for me and other players from the NPFL. We have been working hard and to get this call up means a lot to us.

“Like I said, it’s a privilege to be here and If I get a chance to play, I’ll definitely give my best, to justify the called up.”​

“It’s a big step (invitation to Super Eagles) in my career and I hope to build on it and push ahead,” he said after the team’s training session.
