Dutch League; How I convinced Kudus to stay with us, Ajax boss Schreuder explains

Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder has spoken about the words he exchanged with Mohammed Kudus to keep him at the club.

The 22-year-old was supposedly refusing to train at one stage of the summer transfer window, seeking an exit to the Premier League.

However, Screuder and the club are thought to have convinced him to give it at least one more season with Ajax before seeking a big move elsewhere.

“During the period that Everton wanted him, I also told him: You are still going to be very important to us,” he said.

“That has come true and I have also indicated to him to think less in positions, but mainly in possibilities on the pitch. Having a completely different type of striker with him than Brobbey, I see as a great luxury.”
