EAGLES 23-MAN LIST: I’ll pick my final 3 players after Congo DR friendly – Rohr

Coach Gernot Rohr said on Friday he needs just three players to complete the Super Eagles 23-man final list that will be submitted to FIFA for the Russia 2018 World Cup after Nigeria’s international friendly against England on June 2.

Rohr defended his selection of the 30 players invited in the preliminary list adding the seven players that he will drop from the provisional squad still have future in the national team.

He explained that five Eagles would be dropped on May 28 after the international friendly with DR Congo in Port Harcourt stating that two more will also be offloaded after the June 2 against the Three Lions in London at Wembley.

The 64-year old coach said he has carefully selected his list of players stating that the debate over players left out should not be entertained.

Meanwhile, Rohr again reiterated his earlier decision to open the doors only to wives and girlfriends of the players but not ‘professionals’ who want to give special massage to players.”
