to football facts and stats website Optajoe.

Optajoe, a leading provider of sports performance data, ranked Nigeria in 19th position among the 32
participating countries at the Mundial which kicks off on Thursday.

The ranking is part of Optajoe’s World Cup Predictor published on its Twitter handle.

The Predictor assessed all the 32 teams that will be in Russia for this summer’s tournament.
Nigeria’s Group D rivals Argentina are third on the ranking with a 10.1 per cent of becoming champions
for a third time.

The other Group D opponents, Croatia and debutant Iceland, are 12th with 1.9 per cent and joint-26th on
1.3 per cent chances respectively.

Brazil have the highest chances of lifting the trophy for a record sixth time with 13.2 per cent, while
holders Germany are second on 10.7 per cent.

The other African teams in the tournament are ranked poorly too.

Senegal and Egypt have a 1.5 percent chance just like Nigeria.

Tunisia take the 30th position with a 0.9 per cent chance while, surprisingly, Morocco, the continent’s
most consistent team during the qualifiers, is 32nd (bottom) with 0.6 per cent.
Nigeria’s first game is against Croatia on Saturday.
