The Eagles clinched a 2-1 victory over Black Stars of Ghana to humble returnee Ghana coach Otto Addo who had boasted prior to the match that he knows how to beat the Super Eagles.

The injury did not only rule out Onyeka from tomorrow’s next friendly against Eagles of Mali at the same venue but will now see the 26 year old who was part of the Eagles squad for the recently concluded 34th AFCON in Cote d Ivoire, in fitness race for his club Brentford as they prepare to host Manchester United in the EPL next round of matches.

Wilfred Ndidi captained Eagles against Ghana in Marrakech Tuesday.

Onyeka is not the only one to miss the forthcoming Mali clash due to injury, compatriot Calvin Bassey has also been ruled out.

The former Ajax defender didn’t train a day before the Ghana match on March 22 but made the substitutes roaster for the game. He has equally returned to England like compatriot Onyeka while hoping to bounce back to fitness even as Fulham visit Sheffeild United on Saturday.

Super Eagles care-taker coach Finidi George has however assured that there is no cause for alarm as he will effect changes good enough to face the Malians in the battle of Eagles .
