Eagles’ job: NFF not eager to extend Peseiro’s contract
Nigeria Football Federationis considering letting Super Eagles Head coach Jose Peseiro leave at the end of his contract.
Jose Peseiro’s will end in June and formal talks about renewal has now been opened.
The NFF is currently cash trapped and are struggling to pay his monthly salary worth about $70,000.
In addition to that, the Portuguese hasn’t performed as expected, winning only four of his none competitive games in charge of the team, losing other five. Although four of the five defeats are friendlies.

Reports also suggests the FA is also willing to explore option of a significant pay cut if the former Venezuela boss is keen to remain in charge of the team.
Peseiro was appointed Super Eagles head coach in May 2022.
He successfully guided the three-time African Champions to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-2 win against Sierra Leone on Sunday.
