Eguavoen-led technical crew can’t perform magic with Eagles in Cameroon – Udeze

Former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze, has said the Austin Eguavoen led crew will have a tough time managing the Super Eagles ahead of the African Cup of Nations.

Eguaveon was named as the interim boss of the Super Eagles after German tactician Gernot Rohr was sacked less than three weeks into the competition.

Eguaveon who is the head of the Nigeria Football Federation technical department will be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, Paul Aigbogun, Garba Lawal, Alloy Agu, and Joseph Yobo.

Speaking on “No Hold Barred”, a breakfast program on Brila FM 88.9, Udeze stated that the time is too short for Eguavoen and his coaching crew to perform magic in Cameroon.

“It’s going to be very difficult for Eguavoen and his coaching crew to do anything with the Super Eagles at next year’s AFCON,” Udeze said.

“The problem is that the time is too short for them to perform, no friendly game has been lined up to prepare the team so it would be very difficult for them to do well.

“But I wish them all the best and hope they do well,” he said.

Nigeria finished third in the last edition hosted by Egypt and they will be aiming to go one step further next year in Cameroon.
