EPL: Hudson-Odoi delighted with role in Chelsea victory over Spurs

Callum Hudson-Odoi has said Chelsea’s players were delighted with the manner of victory over Tottenham on Sunday.

The winger admits it was a tight first-half, though the hosts were able to gradually wrest control from Spurs after the break.

Speaking after the win, Hudson-Odoi stated: “Yeah, it was amazing. I think everyone, the whole team, knew how important this game was and we began creating chances in the second-half and they also started opening up, so allowing us to create some chances. So we’re really delighted, happy.

“I think they knew we were up for it. We played very fast tempo and with great intensity off the ball, I think it was very good.”

Hudson-Odoi had a role in Hakim Ziyech’s goal, though insisted all the credit belonged to his teammate.

“Yeah, when I was holding the ball up, I could see there was some space behind the defender, so I went for it. I’m pleased I was able to create something, but I can’t take too much credit as it was an amazing goal from Hakim. He deserves full credit. I’m happy for him.”

He added: “Yeah, for me, I’m happy to be playing and creating. I’m trying to be more direct and trying to improve. I’d like to get more goals and my assists up, but I’m enjoying my football.”
