EPL: Moyes, Lopetegui silent on Graig Dawson’s future

West Ham United manager David Moyes and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Julien Lopetegui have remained tight-lipped on the future of centre-back Craig Dawson.

The Hammers defender, who Wolves bid to sign ahead of West Ham’s 1-0 loss at Molineux at the weekend, was left out of the squad for the game given the transfer interest shown by the Old Gold.

Dawson almost moved to Wolves at the end of the summer transfer window, only for the move to collapse on deadline day.

Asked about the defender’s future, with West Ham yet to accept or reject the offer before the game, Moyes did not want to comment on the situation on Saturday.

“I’ve got no comment to make on Craig Dawson,” Moyes told football.london following Saturday’s defeat.

Shortly before Moyes spoke at full-time, Wolves boss Lopetegui addressed the media following three points for his side that moved them out of the relegation zone. Asked about Dawson, Lopetegui gave nothing away.

“I am very respectful with players that are not ours. I have to be very respectful,” Lopetegui explained. “Of course, I respect not only the player you asked me about but all the players. We have to be respectful.”
