EPL: Onyeka gets medical green light to return to competitive football

Frank Onyeka has been given the medical green light by Brentford FC doctors to return to competitive football.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been out since December last year as he nurses a hamstring injury.

Brentford have now revealed that Onyeka is in contention for Monday’s English Premier League match against Fulham at the Gtech Community Stadium.

“Frank Onyeka and Pontus Jansson are both in contention for Monday’s match,” a club statement read.

“The pair haven’t featured in 2023 due to respective hamstring injuries but could return for the visit of Fulham.”

This will come as good news for Nigeria Jose Peseiro who is set to announce his roster for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches with Guinea-Bissau.
