EPL: Rangnick refusing to drop Man Utd consultancy after taking Austria job

Manchester United caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick is determined to work his consultancy role.

Rangnick joined United in November as interim manager in a deal that will see him being promoted as a consultant for the club in June.

He was later announced as the next Austria manager, which raised questions as to how he will be able to juggle his next managerial job when he moves upstairs at Old Trafford.

The Times, however, reports the 63-year-old is committed to his upcoming duties and wants his position at the club to be “meaningful”.

Rangnick is already in contact with incoming manager Erik ten Hag via Lars Kornetka, who is a mutual friend.

Kornetka will be the German’s No2 at Austria after assisting him during his time as head of sports development at Lokomotiv Moscow.
