EPL star to face trial after crashing £130,000 Bentley into coffee shop
Nigeria-born Premier League star Jordon Ibe is accused of leaving the scene after crashing his £130,000 Bentley into a coffee shop, a court heard today.
The Bournemouth winger, 24, allegedly caused around £15,000 of damage when his white Bentley Bentayga 4×4 clipped a parked car and ploughed into The Pantry on Plaistow Lane in Bromley, south London, in the early hours of July 30.
Bromley magistrates court heard Wednesday morning the shop was so badly damaged in the 4.50am crash that the entire front had to be removed from its foundations to render it safe.
Prosecutor George Crivelli said Ibe is accused of briefly staying at the scene before reversing his car and driving away from the crash scene, leaving part of his vehicle embedded in the shop front.
“The defendant has been involved in a collision – his vehicle has left the road, collided with a parked car and crashed into a shop front.
“The vehicle remained for a short period before driving off.”
Ibe, who joined Bournemouth for a club-record £15 million from Liverpool in 2016, appeared at Bromley magistrates court Wednesday morning where he denied failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He did not enter a plea to a second charge of driving without due care and attention.

Jonathan Morrissey, for Ibe, said the player claims he waited for a reasonable length of time and nobody made themselves available to exchange details.
Magistrate Philip Widdowson adjourned the case for a trial on February 10 at Bexley magistrates court.
Ibe, of Poole, Dorset, was released on bail until the trial.
