EPL: Tottenham close in on first signing as Danjuma snubs Everton
Tottenham are set to sign Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old was set to join Everton in a similar deal, having agreed terms and reportedly even underwent a medical.
But Spurs sensed an opportunity and have successfully swooped in with an 11th-hour bid. Danjuma is now en route to London to undergo a medical at the club’s training base.
Conte is keen to bolster his options as the second half of the season begins. The manager has called Monday night’s much-needed win at Fulham as a “starting point”.

“I was happy with the performance in the last few games but we had two losses, against Arsenal and Manchester City. Today has to be a starting point for us to give everything then we will see what happens at the end.
“We have to try to stay in the race for the Champions League and try to go to the next round in the FA Cup. It was important to speak in the past few days and to explain the situation. Compared to last season, we continued to score goals, but to concede 21 goals in 10 games it wasn’t positive. But I am happy with the response.”
