EPL: Victor Moses sad over Chelsea’s league position

Former Super Eagles star, Victor Moses, is sad over Chelsea’s poor standing in the English Premier League.

With nine matches left to the end of the 2022-2023 Premier League season, Chelsea, who are now led by their iconic midfielder Frank Lampard on a caretaker basis, sit eleventh in the standings with 39 points accumulated, thirty three less than table toppers Arsenal.

It means the Stamford Bridge outfit have no mathematical chance of winning the Premier League for the first time in six years.

Given the points difference between them and fourth-placed Manchester United, Chelsea are in danger of missing out on the Champions League except they manage to win the competition this term.

Moses was a key member of the last Chelsea team to won the Premier League in 2016-2017, playing 34 matches under Antonio Conte and impressed following his conversion to a right wingback.

Asked if it’s sad to look at the Premier League table and see Chelsea tenth (eleventh), Moses told Spartak Moscow’s official website :”Certainly. But that’s football. Now the club must draw conclusions and rebuild for the new season.

“Although the current one can still be saved, because there are matches with Real Madrid in the Champions League ahead.”

Arsenal and Manchester City are battling for the Premier League title, and one key game that could determine where the title ends up takes place at the Etihad Stadium on April 26 when both rivals clash.

“As for the Premier League, I look forward to the outcome between Arsenal and City with great interest.
