Europa League Final: Iwobi benched, Ozil starts against Chelsea
Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi is on the bench as Arsenal manager Unai Emery announced his starting line up for tonight’s Europa League final against Chelsea at the Bakı Olimpiya Stadionu in Azerbiajian.
Iwobi is not the only player of Nigeria heritage that will watch from the sidelines so are Bukayo Saka and Xavier Ameachi.
Iwobi who did not feature in the semi-final matches against Valencia will be hoping he is fielded at some point in the match which would be his 51st appearance for the Gunners this season.
Only on Tuesday, the 23-year-old stated that Arsenal were aiming to win the trophy for teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan who is out of the match as a result of the political tension between his country Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“He has contributed a lot to help us get to where we are, he is very upset, he has taken a decision, and he cannot go [for the final],” Iwobi told the Guardian.

“We’re going to fight and hopefully win the trophy, not just for us but for him.
