Europa: We’re capable of upsetting West Ham, says Viborg coach Friis

Viborg coach, Jacob Friis, has said they’re capable of upsetting West Ham United.

Viborg host West Ham in the second-leg of their Europa Conference League playoff needing to overturn a 3-1 deficit.

Friis said, “We could have wished for a better starting point, especially after the performance we delivered over there. So of course it will be difficult, but it is not impossible and we believe in it.

“The game in London was equal in many areas, and they had some individual quality that we have to expect from a Premier League team, but we have looked at the game again and looked for all the little things we can optimise on.

“It is impossible to say whether we will get a similar match picture again, but we will give it a try, and then we just have to shake up some small facets of the game, so that we become a little more dangerous and can do a little more hurt them.

“There were probably not many who expected us to be able to play such a game over there, but now we have got a feeling of what we can do against them, so we go into the game with the belief that we can make a big night at Energi Viborg Arena.”
