Everton Man of The Match Award: Iwobi loses despite completing more passes
Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi failed to win the Everton Man of The Match Award which was decided today.
Iwobi polled a total of 23% of the votes to place third behind Theo Walcott who had 30% and Yerry Mina 47% who won the award which is voted for by the club’s fans.
The trio were shortlisted for the award after the Toffees 2-0 victory against West Ham United at the Goodison Park last Saturday.
Surprisingly, match statistics which showed that Iwobi completed a total of 18 passes in the final stages of the match, 6 more than any other player on the pitch failed to secure him the award.

The win also ended a run of 4 straight defeats and took the Toffees out of the relegation zone.
