Ex-NFF Secretary Musa Amadu joins Presidential race as election moves to Lagos

Former Nigeria Football Federation Secretary-General, Barrister Musa Amadu, has signified his intention to contest for the Presidency position of the federation.

Amadu who recently resigned as the chairman disciplinary committee of the federation under Mr Amaju {innick administration, is billed to contest in the NFF election expected to hold in Lagos next month.

Amadu, a seasoned football administrator, had served under the leadership of former NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari between 2010 and 2015.

Amadu’s recent resignation from the NFF committee may not be unconnected with the looming crisis in the NFF over the 2022 elections.

Having served in the Glass House for years, Amadu is fully equipped to serve the federation towards transforming the fortunes of Nigerian football.

During Alhaji Maigari’s era, Barrister Amadu was also part of the success stories of the administration when Nigeria won many available laurels across the world.

Under his administration, Nigeria qualified for the senior World Cup, won the U-17 World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations – both the men’s and women’s versions.

The former NFF scribe is expected to contest against the incumbent President Pinnick, former national goalkeeper, Bishop Peterside Idah, former staff of NFF now Confederation of African Football, (CAF), Head Safety and Security department, Dr Christian Emeruwa.

Emeruwa, a doctorate degree holder in health education and human kinetics had served as special assistant to three successive NFF’s general secretaries which include, Dr.Bolaji Ojo-Oba, Barrister Amadu and Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.
