FA Cup: Shrewsbury stopper Bennett hails Liverpool defender van Dijk after shirt gesture

Shrewsbury Town defender, Elliott Bennett, has spoken about Virgil Van Dijk visiting their dressing room after their FA Cup tie against Liverpool.

The League One side, who opened the scoring at Anfield before losing 4-1 on Sunday, put in a good showing against one of the best sides in Europe.

After the game, their manager spoke about Van Dijk as a class act for visiting the dressing room and congratulating his squad post-game.

“Classy on and off the pitch,” Bennett wrote on Twitter, about Van Dijk.

“Rolls Royce of a player and without doubt the world’s best center-back.

“Touch [of] class coming in to see the boys and give our goal-scoring hero his shirt! Proper.”
