Fans celebrate Emmanuel Dennis red card after AFCON blackout

Super Eagles fans are celebrating Emmanuel Dennis red card on Friday night, with Watford dropping into the Premier League relegation zone, insisting the Nigerian forward is under a curse for staying away from the ongoing AFCON.

Dennis was sent off in the 78th minute after a second booking as visiting Norwich City won this relegation six-pointer 3-0 Friday night.

The defeat saw Watford drop into the relegation zone and lifted Norwich City out of it.

Fans took to Twitter to celebrate the misfortune that has befallen Dennis and Watford, who stopped him from joining Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the AFCON 2021 in order to help them battle relegation.

Below are some tweets from Twitter.

“Since Watford stopped Emmanuel Dennis from going to AFCON because he was “too important for them”, he hasn’t scored any goal, they haven’t won any match. They are currently in the relegation zone. Dennis just got a red card. Nigerians have placed a curse on Watford,” tweeted Ezenwanyi Camp Nou.

“Refused to release Emmanuel Dennis for AFCON and he’s rewarded Watford with horrible performance, that’s what I call real justice,” tweeted @Silhouett3Yrome

Dr Udiee @1stGeuiss added to the jibe: “Emmanuel Dennis missed #afcon2021 and now has been red carded to miss all the Premier League games till #AFCON21 ends. No be juju be that?”
