Fans, TV stations blackout Nigeria vs Lesotho WCQ opener in Uyo

Football fans opted to blackout Nigeria vs Lesotho 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier opener at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Thursday evening.

According to a cross-section of the fans, it was due to the gate fee of N1,000, most stands in the stadium were scanty as the 2026 World Cup qualifier kicked off.

Interestingly, no local station transmitted the game live from Uyo, a situation that left most fans disappointed as they could not watch the match on TV.
