Female PSG star Diallo arrested over teammate attack

 

Paris St-Germain Women’s star Aminata Diallo has been arrested following an alleged assault on one of her team-mates last Thursday, the club has confirmed.

Diallo, 26, was taken into custody on Wednesday after being accused of playing a part in a violent attack on colleague Kheira Hamraoui, according to French publication L’Equipe.

Hamraoui is understood to have been the victim of an ambush after returning from a party with two of her PSG colleagues, including Diallo, on November 4.

Masked attackers are said to have pulled the 31-year-old out of a car before hitting her legs with an iron bar in a bid to injure her.

Diallo was allegedly behind the wheel of the car at the time of the attack, but is believed to have emerged unscathed despite the violence that ensued.

And following the incident, the France midfielder has sensationally been accused of hiring the masked attackers to injure her team-mate, as they are currently vying for the same spot in PSG’s midfield.

PSG confirmed her arrest in a statement released on Wednesday, in which they “strongly condemn” the alleged attack.

The statement reads: “Paris Saint-Germain take note of Aminata Diallo’s police custody this morning by the Versailles SRPJ as part of the proceedings initiated following an assault last Thursday evening against Club players.

“Paris Saint-Germain strongly condemns the violence committed.

“Since Thursday evening November 4, the Club has taken all the necessary measures to guarantee the health, well-being and safety of its players.

“Paris Saint-Germain is working with the Versailles SRPJ to shed light on the facts. The Club is attentive to the progress of the procedure and will study the follow-up to be given to it.”

Diallo, who started for PSG in their clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday, has been on the club’s books since 2016.

Hamraoui, who was not involved in Tuesday’s 4-0 Champions League win over Madrid for obvious reasons, only joined PSG from Barcelona over the summer.
