Fernandes pays homage to Ronaldo with celebration in kickabout

Bruno Fernandes paid homage to fellow Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo with a celebration in his honour during a garden kickabout with Man Utd teammate Diogo Dalot.

Both United stars are self-isolating away from the club’s Carrington training base due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Fernandes performed Ronaldo’s famed ‘Si’ celebration after scoring past Dalot

And they took the time to hone their skills, taking shots at each other in a mini football goal in the garden.

In a clip uploaded to Twitter, Dalot wrote: “Quarantine life’s. After all.. who won it, @B_Fernandes8? Let people decide..”

During the video the pair take turns to go in goal, with Dalot scoring several to begin with, and dancing and celebrating to his camera.

But Fernandes soon gets a go outfield, and whips a curling shot into the bottom corner, before recreating Ronaldo’s famed ‘Si’ celebration.

Dalot also joked around to the camera after firing one past his teammate

However it was Dalot who had the last laugh, as his shot was elaborately flicked over the bar by Fernandes, before nestling high in a tree behind the goal.

“It’s over,” Dalot declared, before mimicking the sound of a final whistle.

Fernandes then shouted expletives as he went to retrieve the ball from the tree.

Dalot joked: “Who loses, pays. Right?”

Before Fernandes snapped back: “You lost so you should get the ball.”

Fernandes has followed a similar path to Ronaldo, moving from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford, where he is already looking like a club hero in the making.

Indeed Dalot certainly thinks his friend is on the right path.

“He’s a top guy, a top player and he’s going to be a legend here,” Dalot told United’s official podcast earlier this week.

“He’s unbelievable, he can be better of course as well. He’s going to learn a lot from this club.

“I think he is a massive player to have in this team and he’s going to be a very good player for this club. He’s going to be [a legend], no doubt about that.”
